Alzheimer's treatments and volunteeringFor my senior project, I decided to research and ask the question, what are the most promising treatment options available for patients with Alzheimer's disease? In doing so, I dove down a rabbit hole learning about the pathophysiology of the disease, all the different drugs currently in the clinical trial process, and gaining a first-hand perspective on the emotional toll the disease takes on those affected.

For my project, I was inspired by how evasive a disease-modifying treatment option has been for Alzheimer's disease treatment. After my undergraduate years in college, I currently wish to pursue medical school. My interests lie in neurology and that is why I chose a terminal neurological disease to study for my senior project rather than any other form of terminal illness that may affect other systems of the body.
