Alzheimer's Disease Treatments

Alzheimer's treatments and volunteering

For my senior project, I decided to research and ask the question, what are the most promising treatment options available for patients with Alzheimer's disease? In doing so, I dove down a rabbit hole learning about the pathophysiology of the disease, all the different drugs currently in the clinical trial process, and gaining a first-hand perspective on the emotional toll the disease takes on those affected.

For my project, I was inspired by how evasive a disease-modifying treatment option has been for Alzheimer's disease treatment. After my undergraduate years in college, I currently wish to pursue medical school. My interests lie in neurology and that is why I chose a terminal neurological disease to study for my senior project rather than any other form of terminal illness that may affect other systems of the body.

TED Talk

My TED talk about Alzheimer's disease and the drug that I identified to be the most promising for future treatment.
